Why these warning signs are specific to you
Discharge paperwork often contains condition-specific guidance that differs significantly between patients. A warning sign that belongs to one procedure may not apply to another. Because AfterCare traces every item to the source line of your document, you see only the warnings your care team recorded for your situation — not a generic checklist that may not match your surgery, condition, or medications. How warning signs are shown
Each warning sign is listed alongside the action your document said to take — for example, “Call your provider”, “Go to the emergency room”, or “Call emergency services”. This wording comes directly from what your document specified, not from a default template. If your document listed a warning sign but did not specify an action, AfterCare
shows the symptom as extracted. Confirm the correct action with your care team.
How to use this screen
Review the Warning Signs screen shortly after your document is processed so you know which symptoms to watch for before they arise. If you experience any of the listed symptoms:- Locate the symptom on this screen.
- Read the action AfterCare has shown for it.
- Follow that instruction immediately.
What to do if your document had no warning signs
If AfterCare could not extract any warning signs from your document — either because none were listed or because the text was unclear — the screen says so explicitly. In that case, ask your care team which symptoms you should watch for and keep their contact number to hand. The absence of warning signs on this screen does not mean your recovery is
risk-free. It means AfterCare could not find specific red-flag guidance in
your document. When in doubt, contact your care team.
