AfterCare’s caregiver feature lets you build a care circle — a list of family members or trusted people who can keep an eye on your recovery alongside you. Everyone in your care circle can view the same recovery guide, and AfterCare automatically records an alert to your care circle whenever a daily check-in signals that something may need attention.

How the care circle works

When you add a caregiver, AfterCare stores their email address and associates it with your account. The way that information is kept — and how caregivers access it — depends on whether your AfterCare account is synced to the cloud.
Cloud-synced accounts: If you signed in with an email address and your data is backed by a cloud account, caregivers you add can sign in with that same email address on their own device to view your recovery guide.Local / device-only mode: If AfterCare is running in local mode (no sign-in, or a local-only account), the care-circle list is kept on this device only. Caregivers cannot log in remotely, but the list is still used to record which emails were notified when an alert fires.

Caregiver alerts

AfterCare triggers a caregiver alert when your daily check-in returns an orange or red result: When an alert fires, AfterCare records it against every email in your care circle so that anyone with access can see what was reported and when.
AfterCare records alerts so your caregivers can see them when they view your guide — it does not send automatic email or SMS notifications. Make sure your caregivers know to check your guide regularly, or to watch for any out-of-band notification you set up yourself.
