The Daily Check-In gives you a structured way to record how you’re feeling each day. You answer three short questions, AfterCare assigns a traffic-light level to each answer, and the worst level across all three becomes your overall score for the day. Your care circle is alerted automatically when your score is orange or red. Nothing is inferred — the level you see is exactly the option you chose.
The daily check-in is not a clinical diagnosis and does not replace calling your care team. If you feel unwell or are concerned about your recovery, contact your provider directly. For a life-threatening emergency, call your local emergency number immediately (911 in the US).

Traffic-light scoring

AfterCare uses three levels to summarise your check-in:

Doing well

Green — all three answers are in the expected range for your stage of recovery. No alert is sent.

Keep an eye on this

Orange — at least one answer suggests something worth monitoring. Your care circle is alerted automatically.

Needs attention now

Red — at least one answer indicates a concern that needs prompt attention. Your care circle is alerted automatically.
Your overall level is the worst level across all three answers. If your pain is green but your wound is orange, your overall level is Keep an eye on this.

Caregiver alerts

When your overall check-in level is orange or red, AfterCare automatically sends an alert to everyone in your care circle — the people you’ve added under Caregiver Access. The alert records the date, time, and which questions drove the score.
If no one is in your care circle yet, AfterCare will tell you after saving the check-in. You can add a family member or carer at any time from Caregiver Access in the menu.

Resolving a concerning check-in

An orange or red check-in stays marked as unresolved on your dashboard until you explicitly mark it as dealt with. To do this, open your check-in history, find the entry, and tap Mark as dealt with. This clears the follow-up priority badge from the dashboard.

Your check-in history

AfterCare keeps a log of every check-in you’ve saved, displayed in reverse chronological order beneath the daily form. Each entry shows the date, time, and overall level so you can spot trends in your recovery over time.
